Week 6: Getting Feedback and Improving my Models
Teams Tutorials:
This weeks work consisted of a tutorial on Microsoft Teams with my tutor to show her my models and talk about my progress. This tutorial gave me an opportunity to get feedback about my models as well as compare my model with other classmates. At the end of the tutorial, I then used the feedback from Danielah to improve my model.
"Your next step is to improve, add and change elements of your room to make it the ideal room. Be as creative as you want when you do this. You will use the folding and model making techniques that you have learnt in order to alter the elements of your room"
From receiving this feedback, I decided to take the tips I got from the "folding techniques" videos to create my ceiling within my 'ideal room'. I took my inspiration specifically from the "dividing the paper" tutorial (video 1) to create my ceiling. I then also expanded on my model to create an outside area of my room as well as stairs.
Fixing my room from feedback provided:
In order to make my ideal room, I needed to experiment with the spaces within the model. By doing this I decided to change the placement of my bed closer to the middle of the space, applying a wall behind it for support as well as to add a new space to my existing model.Behind the wall I added a desk which transformed the space into a seperate study space
The, I added a long wardrobe to not only provide the 'ideal room' which a large cupboard space but also to supply support for a ceiling.
After I created the wardrobe, I used the "dividing the paper" technique to create a ceiling for my room. This folding paper technique added a nice aesthetic to the model. I also decided to add in a sky light to provide more light to the model.
